Rattlebag Family Friendly Singaround (FREE)

  • Hastings Fishermen's Museum Rock-a-Nore Road Hastings, England, TN34 3DW United Kingdom (map)

Rattlebag have run a very popular singaround at the Stag for many years during Hastings Traditional Jack in the Green. Last year for the first time they held a family friendly version on the boat at the Fishermen’s Museum, and they enjoyed it so much that they are returning this year to do it again.

Rattlebag are a 5-piece, a capella group from Hastings. They have hats, headdresses and harmonies, and entertain you with folk and contemporary songs. Their unique arrangements have delighted crowds at festivals, folk-clubs and singarounds since 2005.

Rattlebag will sing a greeting song, say a few words of welcome and pass round the rattlebag – a turn-taking token. When someone gives it to you, keep it while you sing your song. Pass it to someone else if you don’t want to sing. Children sit with their families so you can do a family turn together. Please be quiet when people are singing and talking about their song. After you have sung your song, everyone claps and you pass your hat to the person next to you. When the Singaround is finished Rattlebag sing a goodbye song.

Before you come, think about a song or nursery rhyme that you would like to share, one that you know well enough to sing in front of everyone.

Come along and share this social singing experience.

Children to be supervised at all times.
