The committee
The Hastings Traditional Jack in the Green committee is an independent group of volunteers responsible for safeguarding, organising, and celebrating one of the UK’s most distinctive annual traditions. We are supported by donations and the generosity of our local community without who the event could not happen.
The committee works year-round to coordinate a full programme of events including educational talks, workshops, music sessions, dancing, concerts, ceilidhs, and the highlight of the weekend the grand procession through Hastings Old Town. From planning logistics and stewarding the event, the committee’s mission is to keep this unique piece of living tradition thriving for future generations.
